Message from Abraham:  I am pleased to accept this new responsibility and look forward to helping the BUS execute its mission

Abraham is a versatile corporate real estate professional currently as the Manager, Capital Projects at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and brings with him rich experience of over 9 plus years working with large multi-geography organizations such as AFL, Thomson Reuters, Carillion, and Truven Health Analytics. Part of Abraham’s experience is in the highly dynamic emerging markets of Asia Pacific where he managed facilities housing an employee base more than 7,000 people.

Abraham strongly believes in a people-first approach to facilities and project management. He is highly experienced in interpreting and implementing global / regional policies in local contexts. He has a Masters in Labor Management, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics, and holds Red Seal papers as an Electrician. He holds a project management professional (PMP) designation from Project Management Institute. Being an active member of IFMA, he also pursued his Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation.

Val Moraes CFM MBA Assoc RICS, is the CEO and Managing Director of GregMore Group, a Facilities Management Consultancy based in Auckland, New Zealand. He has more than 30 years of Facilities Management experience in various countries including India, Australia and New Zealand. His past experience includes senior FM roles with Super Deluxe Hotels (Oberoi Group), High Rise Commercial Buildings (Colliers International) and Supermarkets (Progressive/Woolworths Australia) besides large Corporates.

He holds a Graduate Certificate in Building Management (GCBM) and a certificate in Project Management from Victoria University, Wellington. He is also the first New Zealander to qualify as a Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) from International Facilities Management Association, USA (IFMA) and is accredited Assoc RICS from Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He is one of the Founding Fathers/Foundation Board Members and Past Chair of Facilities Management Association of New Zealand (FMANZ) besides being the Past President of IFMA FMCC .

Val is also an Accredited Professional for Green Star rating of Buildings in New Zealand (GSNZAP).

John serves a SAG Member of IFMA’s BUS Community, and during the day is the Customer Business Director, Western Canada with Johnson Controls, Performance Infrastructure, P3; based in Vancouver, Canada he works with an excellent team serving the Healthcare, Academic, Law Courts, and Transportation sectors.  Mr. Ringness has over 30 years’ experience in the FM industry with major global FM companies such as Carillion (Canada), Marriott Corporation – Facilities Division, Sodexo, ARAMARK Corp., PIH (Haiti/USA), Lavasa Corporation (India), and Kohinoor Group (India).

John has completed the Facility Management certificate program at the University of Toronto, Canada, and several other FM related training programs. He first joined the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) in the early 1990’s and in 2012 joined the Royal Institution of Surveyors as a Chartered Surveyor.
